Congressman Marty Meehan recently resigned from Congress to become Chancellor of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. A special election will be held to fill his seat. The primary is on September 4 – the day after Labor Day – and the general is on October 1. Currently, there are five Democrats running for their party’s nomination for the seat.
