What do you mean by “clinch”? Media reports? As of last week according to the media Clinton was already the Dem nominee. Do you mean having enough delagates to win the nomination?
Jd17 — Yes. See the market description. I’m basing it on the CNN delegate scorecard, which you can find here. This cannot occur until Feb. 5 at the earliest, even if someone were running unopposed, because most delegates won’t be selected until then.
I’m judging the results based on the CNN delegate scorecard. For comparison purposes, in the last election cycle this date was reached for the Democrats on March 11, 2004, two days after Florida and Texas (among others) held presidential primaries. For Republicans (President Bush was running basically unopposed), the date was reached on March 9, 2004. Note that the CNN delegate scorecard includes both pledged and unpledged delegates.
This is the day (using Eastern Time) on which the CNN Democratic National Convention delegate count recognizes one of the party’s candidates as having enough votes to win the nomination.
