from Yahoo! “The Batman blockbuster "The Dark Knight” hauled in $43.8 million to rank as Hollywood’s top movie for the third-straight weekend, fending off “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor,” which opened a close second with $42.5 million."
May have jumped the gun a bit closing the market. Weekend grosses cited look like the studio estimates. Not that they will necessarily change but actuals won’t be out until later Monday.
Weekend actuals now in: Dark Knight $42.7MM, Mummy $40.5MM. Dark Knight holds on.

However on a global scale, the Mummy sequel won the gold with $102M worldwide beating out the Batman flick’s $81M.
While I thought that this market was related to North America (Canada and the United States) only, there may have been people who were not aware that this market was excluding foreign showings.
Just something that perhaps should be included in all future markets related to movies.
