FREE INKLE IDEA FOR WEEK OF 10/6/08
This idea started as an arbitrage but is now a simple directional play. Two identical markets exist on the Dow breaking the 10,000 level. Will the Dow Jones Industrial Index go below 10,000 points by the end of the year? which is currently trading at $72.16 and Will the stockmarket drop below 10,000 in 2008? which is trading at $48.01.
If you want to eliminate risk, sell the first and buy the second. However, given the state of Dow futures this morning, I am recommending you simply buy the cheaper of the two contracts.
DISCLAIMER: I am long this trade and bought more this morning.
Congratulations. It looks like you’ve boosted your ranking from 20th to 16th.
Thanks. I notice you cracked the top ten all time recently. Way to go. WStritt must be getting nervous.
BTW, does the Dow need to close below 10,000 or trade below 10,000? Assassin8?
I was wondering the same thing.
Edited to add at 1:14 p.m. PDT: It’s a moot question now.
It fell to 9999 a few seconds ago.
And now it’s much lower. The way things are going, the question may be moot. I’d interpret the question to mean the day’s low, BTW, and not just because I have a self-interest in saying so. I would think that if you were talking about a closing price, you’d say so. At least I would. But that’s just my opinion.
Disclaimer: I bought long here, a significant amount. I’d buy more, but I’m out of cash.
It is still going down from where mvguy reports it at 9999. We are having an ugly day in the markets, and it might be time to close this market and open another asking where the bottom of the market might be this year.
Markets are down, but oil is down as well: What will be crude oil price on Dec 31st 2008?
