Nice to see the Occupy Happy Valley folks finally have a purpose!

Joe Pa gone immediately. I won’t be offended if you uh-oh this one out.

Separately, interesting that this all came down only after Joe Pa had won his 409th game giving him the all time win record. Wonder if the DA was a Penn State alum?

I note that firing is still open even though he retired and they were supposed to be mutually exclusive. I appreciate circumstances have changed – he announced his voluntary retirement at the end of the season today but could still be fired tomorrow. Still, was the “retirement” really voluntary? Maybe in the context of heading out the back door when he saw the torches and pitchforks heading up the driveway…

I actually have no pecuniary interest left in the answer, just trolling on this one. : )

Rats…K1050 arbed down the resign/fire/during/after stocks before I could get to them.

Sorry about that, Chief. It was only 60 inkles each. And, I left a few inkles on the table for someone else, who already took them.

Big 10 Coach of the Year? Pretty funny.
chelseaboys   •   Tue Nov 08 2011 at 04:54pm PST
It’s a pretty low threshold in the Big 11, except for Fitzgerald. But, yes it was meant as a joke.
chelseaboys   •   Tue Nov 08 2011 at 11:39am PST
Definitionally speaking, “fired” will be anything that is not completely voluntary on his part. I realize this may take some parsing of words; but, I believe the media will do that for me.
wstritt   •   Tue Nov 08 2011 at 05:04pm PST
So technically both “Resigns” and “Fired” during the current season could both cash out at 100? For example, if he nominally “resigns” but only because he was forced out under threat of being fired if he didn’t?
chelseaboys   •   Tue Nov 08 2011 at 05:10pm PST
I meant for them to be mutually exclusive. Your scenario I would label as a firing. Substance over form. If it walks like a duck. . . .
