How will this market be resolved if the court declares the ban unconstitutional in part? Thanks.
The crux of the question is if the right to keep and bear arms is an individual right or a collective right. If the court says it is an individual right subject to reasonable controls, then the ban will have been determined to be unconstitutional.
That may be the crux of the question, but it’s not the only part that matters. Obviously, the Supreme Court could rule that it is an individual right, but that D.C. can ban handguns in particular.
What happens to the market if there is no decision announced by Junes 1st?
Since there has not been an official decision. I’ve reopened the market.
“Since there has not been an official decision. I’ve reopened the market.”
That ruling is unfair. An ending date explicitly determines the market. I wouldn’t have participated if I thought the market would be arbitrarily extended.
I suggest that this market be closed and a new market be created with a different closing date if you are waiting for an official announcement.
The Supreme Court announced today that it would decide whether the Constitution grants individuals the right to keep guns in their homes for private use, plunging the justices headlong into a divisive and long-running debate over how to interpret the Second Amendment’s guarantee of the “right of the people to keep and bear arms.”
