According to the Huffington Post the McCain campaign is considering new attacks using the racist speeches of Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
By keeping it open after the first House vote, but closing it before the Senate vote, I interpretted it to mean that the market creator was closing it and would wait for the end of the saga. I did not view closing the market on Oct 1 as a deadline that the market should be closed, but rather, after Oct 1 additional predictions cannot be made and we will have to see what happens.
The rest was history, Senate approval + House approval = Congress passed the bill. Bush signed it into law on Friday. In my view, the intial closing of “yes” was correct. This should be ammended.
US Cyclists Arrive Wearing Masks

Despite our market maker’s efforts in setting up markets, they need to learn more about how to set some boundaries and restrictive clauses in markets. The market maker has provided no information regarding their sources, such as Box Office Mojo, the Farmers’ Almanac, or the latest Harry Potter Book. They have also provided no information regarding what regions will be taken into account; it is difficult to know whether the “Box Office” consists of US (because that’s the important one) or includes all the other minor outlying countries (Sarcasm? Indeed.)
While the market maker’s intentions may have only focused on the US (There is a great deal of talk about if “The Dark Knight” can beat "Titanic"), the ambiguity and vagueness of the market leave much to be desired. Rather than changing this market, I would hope that the market maker considers closing the market after reaching $600 million in worldwide sales and then creating a new market where clarity and specifics, such as “US Box Office revenues,” are provided. By doing so, the market maker can run markets more accurately and efficiently.
