It is still going down from where mvguy reports it at 9999. We are having an ugly day in the markets, and it might be time to close this market and open another asking where the bottom of the market might be this year.

It looks like we hit the deadline, and we don’t have a deal. For certain this was a roller coaster ride for the markets, and also for this market. Maybe a new version of this will be created to see if it happens the next time.

It appears the timing of Midnight isn’t understood. Midnight happens at the transition from one date to the next. In 24-hour time usage, Midnight occurs on the specified date when the time of the day becomes “00:00” (hours: minutes).
This market stated, “276 by Midnight on 11-May-2008”. That time limit happened at the time transition between Saturday, the 10th of May, and Sunday the 11th of May. At that time, and well into the morning on the 11th of May, the referenced AP site reflected there were only 275 Super Delegates assigned to Mr. Obama.

It is midnight Eastern, and the referenced tracker page we were to use as our reference control, is only showing 275. Looks like this went bust with the control saying 276 isn’t accepted by this time.

This merger agreement happened by the date limit and got signed. “Will Merge” was the required intent, and that was achieved when both companies signed the binding agreement. This transaction is not going to be challenged by the Feds, and only one shareholder is pressing the price issue hoping to get a bigger payout, which is routine with large mergers where the big hands get a sweeter payout. NYMEX was on the ropes and had no other possible hope if the CME walked away, and all the shareholders knew they needed this to stop a worse fate.
