Click on possible answers in the right column to hide/show them on the graph. You can also hover over any line to see current value at that time. Graphs will begin to show data one hour after the question has been open. The Historical Trend chart does not display all prices ever reached since it is only updated at discrete time intervals, (hourly/daily/weekly, depending on the date range).
Each state that supports the winner of the 2012 U.S. presidential contest will cash out at $100. All others cash out at $0.
If no candidate reaches 270 electoral votes (presumably because of a 269-269 tie), then a state will cash out at $100 only if no candidate garners a majority of presidential votes (greater than 50%) in that state.
For the purposes of this market, the electoral vote count will be based on those allocated by the election; in other words, this market will not take into the account the actual vote of the Electoral College and any potential faithless electors.
The market creator may participate after the market has been open for at least 24 hours. He will not participate on Election Day or later. The market closing might be extended if a state is too close to call by the day after the election.
