Am I to assume correctly that you are referring to whom the award as “US Champion” answers the market and not a particular “Flavor” of cheese?

Yes, the answer will be the cheesemaker’s location. This may get tricky if a cheesemaker has multiple locations but I’ll use the location given in the official announcement.
