I think this is over:

Nokia Corporation (ADR) Signs Deal To Remain Major Player In Mobile Industry – http://www.bidnessetc.com/45585-nokia-corporation-adr-signs-deal-to-remain-major-player-in-mobile-industry/

GeneH   •   Wed Jun 17 2015 at 11:31am PDT

If I read this correctly (could not be) this deal only applies to “Nokia Technologies” and not to HERE. Nokia is apparently 3 distinct entities (just learning this!). I can find no suggestion that HERE is included in this deal, but the details are still murky.

I am open to correction on this. Thanks.

Thoughts on refunding?

lenlesmac   •   Wed Jun 17 2015 at 11:56am PDT

I’d still like a refund please. I purchased quite a lot based on the info I had at time & now the game has changed quite a bit, especially the expiration date. I’d like my ‘money’ back please. Thanks.

GeneH   •   Wed Jun 17 2015 at 11:41am PDT

I am relatively new here and just getting ramped up, so not sure if I am thinkking about this right…It appears likely nothing will happen before June 22 BUT it is possible. Some people are already invested in one of the answer choices. Seems like no harm in letting it ride until June 22 and then refunding if it does not resolve. If it does happen then there are winners and losers. If it does not happen then everyone goes home none the richer or poorer.

Again, not been around very long so I do not know how these issue generally play out.

kmcmorr (ADMIN)   •   Wed Jun 17 2015 at 12:05pm PDT

This is a particularly tricky situation because the question was reopened to let the market play out until the resolution criteria was known – however it wasn’t specifically stated in the details that reopening was a possibility, therefore making some players play the market based on the end date. I hate to refund but to keep it fair – and because the details of Nokia’s deals are rather murky – I think it is only appropriate to refund this market. I will do so later tonight if there are no objections.

lenlesmac   •   Wed Jun 17 2015 at 12:13pm PDT

Agreed. That’s exactly how I forecasted (about $9k!)- based on the expiration date. Currently, I’m down $300 with the game-changed date. :(

GeneH   •   Wed Jun 17 2015 at 12:07pm PDT

Thumbs up from me. No problem at all.

lenlesmac   •   Wed Jun 17 2015 at 12:02pm PDT

Good call. My mistake, I mis-read it! (I still don’t like this question any more and would like to be refunded based on the previous expiration date.)

Sorry for the late reply. I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what makes sense here. My original intent was to keep the question open until an announcement was made, however I did not make that clear in the criteria. Since there has not been an announcement made, and since there seems to be a possibility of Nokia not selling at all, I believe the only real option here is to refund this question. If there are no objections I will refund later on today. Apologies for the confusion. Perhaps a new market can be made to see whether or not they actually sell by a certain date.

lenlesmac   •   Tue Jun 16 2015 at 02:56pm PDT

I forecasted based on the previous expiration date. Nokia HERE was not purchased by anyone and my forecast was rolled-over into the new expiration date without my approval. Can I please have all my forecast withdrawn without penalty?

kmcmorr (ADMIN)   •   Mon Jun 15 2015 at 10:33am PDT

Reopening as it seems no decision has been made at this time. Will resolve if a decision is made before the new end date.

lenlesmac   •   Mon Jun 15 2015 at 10:35am PDT

Since my Uber shares dropped, I won’t take a loss will I? In otherwords, since no one purchased HERE, will this forecast be voided?
