Illinois Lottery sued for not paying winnings due to state budget impasse

I’m bidding 30 cents on the dollar for lottery scrip :)

Not until Chicago becomes Detroit.

They can’t even get a budget…

Comprehensive pension reform in the next week!? No way!

chelseaboys   •   Wed Jun 10 2015 at 01:02pm PDT

Am I missing something? Why aren’t there years denoted on these stocks?

kmcmorr (ADMIN)   •   Tue Jun 16 2015 at 11:34am PDT

FYI – If you click on “more info” for each stock you will see the year denoted for those dates.

kmcmorr (ADMIN)   •   Wed Jun 10 2015 at 01:51pm PDT

You’re not missing something, this is a new type of continuous date market that Inkling is rolling out (see blog links in details.) The above dates are from present time forward. I am not sure about the “years on stocks” question however I will pass it along to the team. Thanks!

chelseaboys   •   Wed Jun 10 2015 at 01:00pm PDT

What is comprehensive? Rauner’s idea of comprehensive is clearly different from Madigan’s.

kmcmorr (ADMIN)   •   Wed Jun 10 2015 at 01:54pm PDT

They clearly do not agree on much of anything. Comprehensive is probably not the best word to use but it is one that has been thrown about for some time now in reference to the current “pension crisis.” This question cashes out when Rauner (or whomever is in office at the time) actually signs a pension reform deal. One would hope that whatever deal is agreed to is indeed “comprehensive.” You always make me think chelseaboys!

chelseaboys   •   Wed Jun 10 2015 at 02:12pm PDT

Yes, I agree that “comprehensive” is bantied about by these folks without much regard for the definition of it. They also try to mix as many things together so that when they compromise they can each crow about how comprehensive they were.

Not meaning to pick on your questions; just that I’ve been designing questions here for ~8 years and there really is an art to it — that some may argue I have yet to master!

kmcmorr (ADMIN)   •   Thu Jun 11 2015 at 11:09am PDT

No doubt it’s an art. I like being a news junkie but taking that information and forming intelligent questions that work well as a market can be a can of worms. I’m working on it though;)
