An addtional article that supports the confirmation that a bill passed both the House and Senate which authorizes money to keep facilities open:

“The extension bill also fills a $3.4 billion budget hole for the Department of Veterans Affairs that threatened to force the closure of VA hospitals and clinics nationwide.”

Sneaky Pete: why won’t you respond to the inquiry? Or at least tell me why I might be wrong. Thanks.

I dont understand why this question is still being traded, especially down.

It clearly has been answered and answered before the question was published (Through no fault of Sneaky Pete!!).

Seems like the question should be refunded as a non-starter.

This from CBS new on July 30th:

“….Immediately after the vote, the Senate took up a three-month patch previously passed by the House that extends the government’s authority to process highway and transit aid payments to states through Oct. 29. It passed by a vote of 91-4 and heads to President Obama’s desk for his signature. Without congressional action, that authority would have expired at midnight Friday. House Republican leaders opted for the patch to give themselves more time to work on a long-term – and long-sought – transportation bill

The short-term highway bill also included $3.4 billion for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) to address a shortfall in the VA budget…."

I’m confused about it too but I guess there’s a possibility that the president won’t sign it? Or does that even matter given how the market is worded?

In the “Background Info” Sneaky Pete provided (which cant be seen on the APP, apparently, if that is how you may be viewing it), he states that whether the Pres signs it or not is irrelevant to the question.

I bought just in case, but it looks like congress has passed this on July 30 and it awaits the Pres signature.

Here is another supporting article. The VA bill was tucked into a highway bill.
